Dayton-The DW Cardinals hosted the McCall-Donnelly Vandals Friday September 13th in a non conference matchup. Initially this game wasn't supposed to be on the schedule but McCall-Donnelly had a late cancellation. Head coach Troy Larsen was happy to get another home game on the schedule even against an opponent other area teams weren't willing to play. WAITSBURG – DW had difficulty moving the ball on offense. Columbia-Burbank held DW's running game in check for most of the game and when DW's defense made stops they took over deep in their own territory. High School football is right around the corner with the first game scheduled for Fri., Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. in Waitsburg versus Columbia-Burbank. Practices are up and running Monday thru Friday. Tim Beckham recently tested positive for Stanozolol, which is an anabolic steroid. This is his first suspension, so the penalty is 80 games. Since there are fewer than eighty games left in the season he will have to serve the suspension for the remainder of this season and the first 32 games next season. OLYMPA-The Washington State Parks Boating Program is urging stand-up paddleboarders to be safe by always wearing a life jacket and leash.
