WAITSBURG -- Waitsburg's City Council meeting date for December has been changed from Wednesday, Dec. 18 to Monday, Dec. 16. This meeting will include a public forum to hear concerns or suggestions regarding a proposed water rate increase and the 2014 budget. WAITSBURG - An incident involving two minors at Waitsburg High School last week resulted in a male student from Jubilee Youth Ranch being charged with sexual assault by the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office. A record number of gift- filled Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Shoeboxes were collected from throughout the Tri-Cities/Eastern Oregon region on Monday and loaded into trucks for the next step of a long journey to needy children in 130 countries worldwide. A total of 14,803 Christ- mas Child Shoeboxes were counted by late Monday evening, surpassing the 2012 collection by 2,161 shoeboxes when a total of 12,642 were donated. WAITSBURG - Trial dates have been set for Janet L. Stone, 49, and David D. Cloyd, 39, who have both plead innocent to charges resulting from an alleged bur- glary/robbery in Waitsburg on October 11.
