Evening Event at Mountain View Cemetery

WALLA WALLA — The City of Walla Walla Parks and Recreation is hosting a historical twilight tour with an aura of mystery at the Mountain View Cemetery on Saturday, August 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Tour participants will learn about people interred at the cemetery who lived unusual lives, experienced heroic events, and had off-beat occupations. Some were revenge and justice seekers; others left this world on their terms or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The fast-paced tour will cover much of the 60-acre facility, including visits to approximately 30 burial sites. It will also include presentations from several in-character presenters.

This special event is free; however, pre-registration is required online or at the Walla Walla Parks and Rec eation office at 55 E. Moore Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Registration opens Thursday, August 1, and is limited to 35 participants.
