National Fly-Fishing Show returns to PNW

SEATTLE— After a multi-year absence due to the health pandemic and venue unavailability, the Fly Fishing Show will return to the Pacific Northwest on Feb. 17-18.

The two-day ode to fresh and saltwater fly fishing will be at Bellevue’s Meydenbauer Center, 36,000 square feet and 100-plus exhibitor booths, at 11100 NE 6th St., Bellevue.

Show hours are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Sat .; 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sun. Admission is $20 for one or $35 for both days. Children under age five and uniformed Boy and Girl Scouts under age 16 are free. Children 6-12 are $5. Active military with an ID is $10.

Classes with experts feature half-day learning opportunities on every aspect of fly fishing. The $85 tuition includes admission to the show for that day.

The show will feature 18 free seminars daily and continuous Destination Theater presentations, authors, fly tying, and fly casting demonstrations. There will be more than $60,000 in national door prizes.

One week at Eleven Angling’s Martin Pescador Lodge in Patagonian, Chile ($18,000 value)

SET Fly Fishing’s golden dorado fishing at three lodges in Brazil ($7,500)

Alaska Trophy Adventures week out of King Salmon ($6,975)

Three days of guided fishing at Belize River Lodge ($5,950)

One week in Patagonian Chile courtesy ChileTrout $5,590

Three days at Highland Lodge in Iceland courtesy of Fish Partner ($5,260)

A 7’ 9 four-piece rod for a 5-weight line by C. Gualdoni Bamboo Rods ($1,900)

A Water Master Kodiak Raft $1,795.

Fly Fishers International (FFI) will offer free fly-fishing instruction at the Learning Center on the main show floor. Basic fly-tying and knots will be taught throughout the day.

The world premiere of the 2024 International Fly Fishing Film Festival is on Sat. (2/17) at 6 p.m.
