Dayton's Kaitlyn Andrews keeps her eye on the javelin as she prepares to throw during the league meet in Dayton on April 1.

MILTON-FREEWATER – Dayton's Kaitlyn Andrews continued her domination of javelin events, taking first place at the Carnival of Speed meet held here Friday. Andrews' throw of 121 feet, 10 inches, outdistanced the second place finisher by more than 14 feet.

Andrews, a senior, also won the long jump by one inch, with a jump of 16 feet, 4 inches. She finished second in the triple jump and fourth in the 100 meters.

On the strength of Andrews' points alone, Dayton finished 7th out of 25 teams at the meet.

Dayton Sophomore Angela Mascall had a strong 8th-place finish in the 200 meters Friday, and Carissa Price was 13th in the 100 meters.

Andrews won all four of her events, including the javelin, long jump and triple jump, as well as the 100.
