Macbeth opens the Shakespeare Walla Walla Summer Festival playing August 3rd though August 7th. Thrill in the journey of a good man seduced by witchcraft, vaulting ambition, and a persuasive wife. Returning from battle, heroic Macbeth is met upon a heath by three "weird sisters" who prophesy that he will one day be King of Scotland. Not in line to the throne, Macbeth's bloody ascension cuts down all who rightfully stand in his way. Macbeth is a marvel of theatricality packed with blood, battles, and the supernatural. Director Tim Hyland's fast and fierce production will leave you breathless. 8:00 PM, Fort Walla Walla Amphitheatre, Walla Walla. Shakespeare Walla Walla is introducing a second venue for patrons in the newly opened Blackfriars inspired Power House Theatre, 111 N. 6th Ave. Swansong by Patrick Page makes its Walla Walla debut indoors in the intimacy of the Elizabethan-era confi guration, 340-seat, Power House Theatre. Swansong is the often funny, often heartwarming, and always remarkable story of the friendship between William Shakespeare and peer/rival playwright, Ben Jonson. Swansong was written by Whitman College Alum Patrick Page, a deeply respected Shakespearean actor of national reputation, who is currently starring on Broadway as the Green Goblin in Spiderman. Director Stephanie Shine eagerly revisits this passionate play, having directed its West Coast premiere in 2008 for Seattle Shakespeare Company. 7:30 PM Evening Performances - 2:00 PM Weekend Matinees. The Anchor Bar at 128C Main, Waitsburg, will have its first Happy Hour 3 - 5 p.m., followed by live music from the rockabilly duo the Rubbernecks at 9 p.m.

Celebrate the grand opening of the Coppei Coffee Co. shop at 137 Main, Waitsburg. The gourmet coffee shop will offer its ice cream and door prizes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The tentative summer schedule for the coffee shop is Mondays 6 a.m. - 2 p.m .; Tuesdays through Fridays 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays 8 a.m. - 9 p.m .; and Sundays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Enjoy home cooking at Betty's diner at 114 Preston Avenue, Waitsburg, will have similar prize incentives, such as desserts and T-shirts, for visitors to try out the 1950s-style restaurant. The diner will be open daily 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. except on Tuesdays when it will be closed.

Missoula Children's Theatre "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" 7:00 p.m. Liberty Theater, 344 E. Main Street, Dayton. Over 50 local kids will audition, rehearse and perform two shows all in just a week's time. Shakespeare Walla Walla presents The Comedy of Errors. The entire family will revel in this sprightly tale of two sets of identical twins, separated shortly after birth. Unknowingly reunited as adults in the same town, the twins are caught in a whirlwind of mistaken identity. The whole town erupts in mayhem. It takes a condemned man, a witchdoctor, and a nun to straighten things out! Director George Mount spikes the zaniness with vaudevillian fun. Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days. The awardwinning The Band Perry, Joey & Rory and LoCash Cowboys kick off this year's Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days with concerts beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds. There's something for everyone whether you like to hear the crunch of metal, the smell of rubber and gas at the Demolition Derby at 6 p.m. on September 1. Put on your cowboy hat, boots and spurs for the PRCA Rodeo beginning at 7 p.m. September 2-4, or chill to the parade on September 3 at 10 a.m.
