To the editor:
During my service as both a full-time Patrol Deputy and volunteer Reserve Deputy with the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, I have consistently observed Chief Deputy Richard Schram demonstrate the kind of leadership that strengthens an organization from the inside out. His approach is steady, principled, and rooted in the values of honor, courage, and commitment. Richard leads from the front, supports the people under his command, and sets a professional standard that others naturally follow.
In demanding situations where judgment, integrity, and calm decisionmaking are essential, I have repeatedly seen Richard show competence and fairness. He balances operational needs with the well-being of staff and community members, and doesn’t ask of others what he is unwilling to do himself.
What stands out most is his commitment to accountability and respect. His decisions are grounded in facts and sound reasoning, which builds trust within the Sheriff’s Office and with the public we serve. His character—honest, dependable, and servicedriven—has earned him the respect of colleagues across the agency.
Please join me in voting for Chief Deputy Schram as the next Walla Walla County Sheriff.
Sincerely,
Allen Loe
Reserve Deputy,
