CHENEY - Dayton's top track athlete, Kaitlyn Andrews, took second place in the long jump at the Washington State Championship 2B track meet here on Saturday. Andrews also placed fourth in the javelin and triple jump, as well as seventh in the 100 meter dash. Andrews, a junior, was Dayton's only female qualifier at state, but she garnered 20 points, putting Dayton 11th in team standings out of 36 2B girls' teams at the meet. DAYTON - Spectators are invited to come and enjoy a new event in Dayton: a Barrel Racers National 4D meet. Barrel races will be held starting at 1 p.m. Saturday in the arena at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. MOSCOW, Ida. - Dayton's Kaitlyn Andrews will compete in four events this weekend in the State 2B Championship Track and Field Meet in Cheney. ASOTIN - WP's softball team fell 5-1 against the Asotin Panthers in a May 13 loser-out league play game. The Lady Tigers improved greatly over their 10-1 and 10-2 double header loss games to the Panthers just days earlier, but not enough to take a win and extend their season. PRESCOTT - After scoring four runs in the seventh inning to tie the game, the Tigers dropped the April 29 game to the Boardman Spartans, allowing Boardman to make five runs to WP's zero in inning eight.
