WALLA WALLA - The Lady 'Dawgs took down the DeSales Irish on the Irish court on Sept. 23. DeSales took the first match, but the Bulldogs recovered to win the next three. Match scores were 18-25, 25-16, 25-23 and 25-20.

Bryeana Myrick and Jenna Phillips lead the team in kills. Myrick had nine kills and added three blocks, Phillips scored 12 kills and lead the team with 21 digs. Josilyn Fullerton added two blocks, three kills and 11 digs. Madison Mings dished out four kills, two blocks, three kills and 14 digs and served up 14/15 at the line. Sarah Phillips had 16 assists, seven digs and lead the team in serving with a near-perfect 23 for 24. Lexie Ramirez had nine assists, 11 digs and was 10/12 at the serving line. Mia Becker had 6 digs and was a top server with 15/17 at the line with two aces.

"We got off to a slow start and played inconsistent. Our passing wasn't the best and we created too many unforced errors," said Coach Shannon Turner. "On a good note, we improved with each game and were able to get some good solid kills, blocks and digs. We didn't give up and found a way to win!"

On the 20th, the Bulldogs walked away with three wins and two losses at the Border Battle tournament in Pomeroy. The 'Dawgs racked up wins against Orofino (25-23, 25- 23, 15-5), Genesee (25-13, 26-24, 15-15) and Kamiah (25-17, 25-14, 15-19) and lost to Troy (13-25, 19-25, 9-15) and Prairie (19-25, 13-25, 7-15). The team excelled on the serving line with 92% service, overall.

Tournament player stats were: Lexie Ramirez 45/47 Serving, 7 Kills, 46 Assists and 39 Digs; Sarah Phillips 29/31 Serving, 4 Kills, 61 Digs; Bryeana Myrick 11/15 Serving, 21 Kills, 8 Blocks and 14 Digs; Madison Mings - 42/46 Serving, 29 Kills, 12 Blocks, 31 Digs; Josilyn Fullerton 26/30 Serving, 22 Kills, 25 Assists, 7 Blocks, 23 Digs; Jenna Phillips - 55/60 Serving, 11 Kills and 40 Digs; Mia Becker - 27/27 Serving, 16 Digs.
