    DAYTON -- Private forest landowners are invited to participate in a series of forest management workshops to be held at the Columbia Fire District 3 meeting room (206 West Main, Dayton). Workshops will take place on Saturday, April 26 and Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to noon. A brief field trip will follow each workshop.   • Dayton Senior Organizes Cemetery Clean-up

    DAYTON - High School Senior Tanner Sousley has received permission from the county to host a clean-up day at Bundy Hollow Cemetery at noon on April 19, as a community service project. Tanner became interested in cleaning up the site because he has relatives buried in the cemetery. Volunteers will remove brush, repair headstones, weed and possibly plant some perennials that will withstand hot temperatures. All volunteers are welcome.   • Resource Center Sponsors Dental Van Visit

    WAITSBURG -- The Waitsburg Resource Center sponsored a visit from the Northwest Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Van last Friday. Volunteers Randy Pearson, DDS and assistant Diana Larsen were able to serve six patients during the 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. visit, though more were on the waiting list.     WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg High School Band performed at a Band Festival in Clarkston on March 25 and scored a superior rating. "This is especially difficult at the high school level, and the band played very well," said Band Director Brad Green. The band played "Fanfare for a Celebration" and "Prai­rie Dance."     DAYTON - The Juve­nile fish pond in Dayton is ready for fishing this spring. According to Steve Martin of the Snake River Salmon Recovery Board, the pond in the Dayton City Park was stocked earlier this month with rainbow trout. It also receives hatchery steelhead diverted from the Touchet River. The pond is open for fish­ing by kids 16 and under and disabled adults.
