  • Dayton Council Hears of Barking Dog Complaints

    DAYTON--An issue with barking dogs within the city limits was brought up by Public Works Director Jim Costello at last week’s Dayton City Council meeting. “People don’t like listening to other people’s dogs barking,” said Costello. In the past two weeks, Costello said he has received five or six complaints about barking dogs, and he wants people to know about a city ordinance governing the issue, and that there are penalties in place for noncompliance.     WAITSBURG – WHS senior Jacob Dunn was named 2016-17 Walla Walla Exchange Club Youth of the Year male recipient, receiving $1,000 towards his higher education.     Council members KC Kuykendall, Terry Jacoy, Kevin House, Jim Romine, Kate Hockersmith, and Mayor Marty Dunn were all present -Kevin House was unanimously voted to retain his role as Mayor Pro Tem. -Unanimously approved a pay increase for pool employees to stay slightly above minimum wage. Lifeguard pay will be $11/hr and office manager/lifeguard will be $12/hr. Terry Nealey, are aimed at preventing records request abuses OLYMPIA – Washington State Representative Terry Nealey (R-Dayton) recently had two bills he helped draft signed into law by Governor Jay Inslee.
