  • Support for Walla Walla Sheriff candidate Schram

    The Times|Sep 24, 2026

To the editor, Walla Walla County has been my home for my whole life except for the 6 years I spent in the US Navy. I love this place & the people who live here. I care what happens to them. For that reason I wholeheartedly support Richard Schram for Sheriff. He is the much superior candidate by education, experience, & temperament. I retired from the Walla Walla Sheriff’s Office after 37 years of service. I was the first K-9 handler for the WWSO, working dogs for 15 years. I was jail commander for 12 years & did thousands of hours of p...

Waitsburg suffered a defeat against Liberty Christian on Friday, September 18; 52-0. "This was a very tough match against a team that finished 2nd in the state last year. Liberty Christian is a big school playing 8-man football. If the count were done right now, they would be a 2B school. They have 17 seniors and 50 players on the team. It is hard to compete with that. Nonetheless, our boys showed up and didn't quit. They fought for every inch and every down," said coach Gabe Kiefel....

Fifteen Years Ago September 29, 2011 The WP "Boys of Fall" were dressed to kill in their new black home jerseys last Friday night as they robbed the Riverside Pirates blind of their loot, taking no prisoners and winning the game, 49-14.
