What better way to enjoy the great outdoors than a day drive to the Tucannon Lakes or to Palouse Falls State Park. On a drive at the end of January, the Tucannon hills were covered in a dusting of snow. A few deer and a huge herd of elk could be seen grazing. Pullman FFA hosted the first trap shoot of the season on Saturday, January 22 in Colton. Six Waitsburg FFA students participated and finished third out of six teams. FFA instructor, Nicole Abel, stated "It was a really good shoot to start with as we have a lot of novice shooters on the team. Behind the scenes, progress has been continuing inside and outside the Waitsburg Weller Library since the new concrete floor was installed. Further improvements to the building to make the library ADA accessible, cleaning, and receipt of sizeable donations have transpired.
