At the Liberty:"Young Washington"

July 17-21

DAYTON — Before he was the Father of a Nation, he was a soldier fighting to survive. In “Young Washington,” a single misstep thrusts young George Washington into the center of a global conflict, testing his honor, loyalty, and courage.

The cast includes William Franklyn-Miller as George Washington, Mary Louise Parker as Martha, Ben Kingsley, and Kelsey Grammer. Rated PG-13 for sequences of intense war violence and some bloody imagery; runtime: 125 minutes.

The Rotten Tomatoes audience rated the film at 92%. One member wrote, “From the opening scene, ‘Young Washington’ transports you to colonial America. It felt authentic to the period, with strong performances, suspenseful battle scenes, and wonderful cinematography.” An RT critic said, “It will inspire you to learn more about Washington and other Founding Fathers: a rousing reminder that even our greatest heroes start out as young men and women brimming with potential.”
