A boater leaves the docks at Lyons Ferry Marina on the Snake River. Despite the poor weather, recreational boating is underway.

Val Woodworth and fellow Lions Club members prepare ribs for the annual Rib Feed at the Don Thomas Pavillion on the edge of the Fairgrounds Saturday. The event drew a crowd of 700 this year, up slightly from last year. The club prepared more than 900 pounds of ribs for the evening.

Inside the old Legion Hall Building in Waitsburg, construction crews have uncovered two murals from the Depression-era of 1938.

Hi Ho 4-H Clothing Club met after school May 15. Joy Johnson was elected president; Marilyn Archer, vice-president, and Eden Brown, secretary.

Miss Betty Pollard became the bride of Neil Maxwell Sunday evening in the Grace Methodist Church in Walla Walla.

May 21, 1926

The rapid calculation contest in the bookkeeping class came to a close a short time ago with Fred Zugar, Captain. The winners were Edward Jordan, Marvin Barnes and Kenneth Gohlman.

The ladies of the Prescilla Club with several of the husbands, took their dinner and went out to the farm where Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bachmann live and spent the day Wednesday.

One Hundred Twenty-Five Years Ago

May 24, 1901

All old soldiers of both Civil and Spanish-American wars together with their friends are invited to a Memorial Service in the 1st Presbyterian Church next Sabbath evening at 8 o'clock.

The Academy Class of 1901 is composed of Inez Bateman, Bessie Roberts, Gorton Wilson, Edgar Smith and Fred Smith.

Frank Cobb, who is attending the Washington Agricultural College, is in town this week taking a little enforced leisure on account of an accident to his left eye a few days ago.
