Tyler Coulston, Sarah Daves, and Victor Whitmore
Tyler Coulston
Tyler Coulston's parents are Deanna and Cullen. His sister, Grace, is a Waitsurg High School alumna, and his younger brother, Cody, is a freshman.
Coulston has attended Waitsburg Schools since preschool. An honor student, he is Vice-President of his senior class and was named the Walla Walla Exchange Club Student of the Month in December of his senior year. He has been an FFA member since his sophomore year and participated on the FFA Ag Mechanics team in his junior and senior years.
Starting with T-Ball and ending with the Cardinals his senior year, Coulston has enjoyed playing baseball. A scholar-athlete, he played basketball from sixth grade through his junior year.
Coulston volunteers with school concessions, the Lions Club rib and salmon feed, and the FFA rake and run, and assists his mom in her classroom.
Fond memories of Coulston's are sports bus rides and the FFA lock-ins.
This summer, Coulston plans to start an apprenticeship with Walla Walla Electric to be an electrician.
Sarah Daves
Sarah Daves will join Ma Beth, Mum Cindy, and siblings Timothy and William as Waitsburg High School alumni. Her Grandpa Jim has also been with her since she enrolled in kindergarten at Waitsburg.
An honor student, she attends WHS full-time and serves as the school's National Honor Society secretary.
Daves joined the FFA in the fifth grade. She is the President of FFA and was the secretary in her junior year. She competed in Vet Science and has shown sheep since her freshman year. As a member, she participated in a variety of activities, including Top Chef and public speaking
In student government, Daves was Class Representative her freshman and sophomore years, Class Secretary her junior year, and again is Class Representative her senior year. She has been a member of the school band since eighth grade and sang in the choir her sophomore year.
A scholar-athlete, Daves was voted Most Improved as a member of the golf team in her freshman year. She was on the football cheer team in her junior and senior years and cheered for basketball during her sophomore year.
Daves was named the Walla Walla Exchange Club Student of the Month and WHS Student of the Month in December of her senior year.
Volunteering during the recent flood, at school concessions, National Hunt and Fish Day, FFA rake and run, American Legion Auxiliary events, Dayton Lions Fair booth, and Park & Rec mini camps has kept Daves busy.
Daves favorite memory was playing Groge at the FFA lock-in.
This summer, Daves will raise lambs and look for work. In the fall, she will attend Washington State University to major in biology and general practice pre-med.
Victor Whitmore
Victor Whitmore started school at Waitsburg in the first grade. His Aunt is Maria Whitmore, and his younger sister, Victoria, is a sophomore at WHS.
Whitmore attends three classes at WHS and classes in construction technology at SEATech.
He has been an active member of FFA since the ninth grade, enjoying the FFA school activities. He played the trumpet in the high school band as a freshman.
Whitmore participated in a variety of sports while at WHS. He played football from fourth grade through his senior year. From his position as center, he received All League Honorable Mention his senior year.
In winter sports, Whitmore played basketball in eighth and ninth grades. He wrestled his sophomore year and received a Nitty Gritty Award. He played basketball during his junior and senior years. For spring sports, he ran track his freshman year, baseball his sophomore and junior years, and finished his senior year on the golf team.
Whitmore has volunteered in his Waitsburg community, replacing sandbags used during flooding, helping build fencing at the dog park, and assisting at the Lions Club rib and salmon feeds. At the school district, he helped paint the football field, worked at the school concessions, assisted with the Amazing Shake program, and worked at the haunted house.
His favorite memories were playing football with friends: Friday Night Lights.
Whitmore will work this summer and plans to become an electrician apprentice.
