WAITSBURG - Over 500 diners attended the 16th Annual Waitsburg Lions Club Rib Feed at the fairgrounds' Don Thomas Building. The May 3 event featured tender fire-cooked ribs that practically made seconds mandatory.
Lions Club Secretary Ross Hamann said, "Those who took in the rib feed said they had the best time catching up with old friends, making new friends, and just relaxing in the laid-back atmosphere with great food and cold drinks."
The rib and salmon feeds are two of Waitsburg's best-attended annual events and successful fundraisers for the Lions Club. The club uses the funds to support Waitsburg community projects, students, and residents.
Hamann said attendance was down this year, most likely due to Spring Wine Release Weekend events throughout the Walla Walla Valley.
