Columbia County Health System Welcomes New COO

COLUMBIA COUNTY - Columbia County Health System welcomed David Lindstrom as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Lindstrom brings more than 25 years of experience working in healthcare, higher education, and public service. Over the course of his career, he has focused on helping teams work well together and building trust across organizations.

He most recently worked at Walla Walla University as the Director of Student Development Services, where he led a student support center encompassing disability services, career development, tutoring, and other programs. In that role, he worked closely with students, families, faculty, and staff to build systems that were clear, supportive, and effective.

Lindstrom also has experience in healthcare operations. Working at Tillamook Regional Medical Center, he helped open four clinics and supported patient access within the hospital. He said that experience shaped his view of the importance of coordination among staff, providers, and leadership.

He has also worked in public service roles with WorkSource Oregon and the Oregon Youth Authority, partnering with local and state organizations to support diverse communities.

Lindstrom said rural healthcare is especially important to him.

"Supporting and protecting rural healthcare options is on-mission for me," he said. "Patient-centered care really comes down to working together-with staff, providers, and the community-to make sure healthcare continues to meet local needs."

He said he's looking forward to getting to know the Dayton community and supporting the work already happening at CCHS.

Lindstrom and his wife have been married for nearly 35 years. They have two adult sons and four grandchildren.
