DAYTON — This year’s TVAC Variety Show features 60 talented local performers, including many brave newcomers.
Jae Goodridge, one of the show’s directors, said, “What I love most about directing the Variety Show is giving people the opportunity to experience being a part of community theater, especially those who never thought they could perform on a stage, or learn choreography, or hear an audience applaud them for their talents.” He continued, “Watching their confidence build and seeing them discover how fun it is to come together and perform with people from all different age groups, backgrounds, and abilities is my motivation for doing this.”
This is the fourth year Jae Goodridge and Samantha Steinhoff have directed. Stephanie Snyder is the choreographer, and the talented Mary Luce is the costume designer.
The cast and crew are comprised of volunteers aged 5 to 80, and include families and couples.
The Variety Show is fun for the whole family and will have the audience singing, clapping, and laughing to a variety of acts, accompanied by a live band. The show features local talent that brings a wide range of skills in choreography, singing, dancing, and acting.
“Hello, My Name is…” is a name-themed variety show featuring songs such as “Good Golly Miss Molly,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Billie Jean,” and many more from pop, rock, country, and classical genres.
