DAYTON - The Dollar General store at 221 West Main Street in Dayton is now open. To celebrate, the company invites the community to a grand opening event on Saturday, March 14, at 8 a.m. Join the Dayton Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome the new business. The first 50 adults will enjoy $10 gift cards, and the first 100 customers will receive a DG tote bag.
"At Dollar General, we believe the addition of our new Dayton store provides positive economic growth for the community through the creation of new jobs and career growth opportunities; increased accessibility to affordable products; the generation of tax revenue and access to Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants," said Matthew Simonsen, Dollar General's senior vice president of business intelligence and development. "As part of our mission of Serving Others, we look forward to being a strong business partner and good neighbor, as well as welcoming customers to our new store."
The Dollar General store is expected to employ approximately six to 10 people, depending on the store's needs. Employees will earn competitive wages, receive training and development programs, and benefits, including day-one telemedicine eligibility, health insurance coverage options, 401 (k) retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, and paid parental leave and adoption assistance for eligible employees.
