BMCF Community Grant applications are open

WALLA WALLA – Blue Mountain Community Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are open for its Community Grants Programs for Walla Walla County, and a separate program for Milton-Freewater, Athena, and Weston, Oregon (MFAW), for nonprofit organizations, public agencies, churches, and fiscally sponsored projects serving these areas.

Blue Mountain Community Foundation (BMCF) is launching a new, county-based approach to community grantmaking designed to better align charitable resources with the communities that support them. Beginning in 2026, organizations serving Walla Walla County will apply through the newly named Walla Walla County Community Grants Program, while organizations serving Milton-Freewater, Athena, and Weston will apply through the new MFAW Grants Program. This transition replaces the Foundation’s previous regional Community Grants Program and reflects a decision by BMCF’s Board of Trustees to strengthen local impact by directing grant funds more closely to the communities whose donors have made those resources possible. Organizations serving multiple geographic areas may apply to more than one grant program, ensuring continued support for projects that benefit communities across the region. 

Applications are available now and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on August 31, 2026, through bluemountainfoundation.org. Organizations that do not meet the eligibility requirements may still apply through a qualified fiscal sponsor.

BMCF encourages organizations in Walla Walla County, Milton-Freewater, Athena and Weston to apply, whether they are seeking support for ongoing operations, launching a new project, or expanding an existing program. The Foundation’s staff is available to answer questions and provide guidance throughout the application process.
