At the Liberty:"Wicked: For Good" Two Weekends

DAYTON: “Wicked: For Good” will play for two weekends, December 12 to 16 & 19 to 23. For two holiday seasons, “Wicked,” the Tony Award-winning musical, has become a gravity-defying cinematic sensation.

After challenging the Wizard’s totalitarian regime in Oz, Elphaba must grapple with her identity as the “Wicked Witch of the West”. At the same time, “Glinda the Good” is seen as the nation’s defender against Elphaba. The two witches must make decisions that seal their fates in this second musical installment.

“Wicked: For Good” is receiving a 93% approval rating from the audience. One viewer said, “Very creative how they crafted this story and incorporated all the aspects of ‘Wicked’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ A very touching ending that brought tears to our eyes.” While the critics’ consensus stated, “Taking one last lap down the yellow brick road, ‘Wicked: For Good’ has a darker tone and the unhurried pacing sometimes gets in the way, but the epic conclusion brings Elphaba and Glinda’s story home in rousing fashion.”

The East Coast New Year’s Eve Celebration will return to the theater on December 31. There will be a special movie shown at 7 p.m., followed by hors d’oeuvres and a Champagne toast at 9 p.m. for “East Coast” New Year’s. More information later as details are worked out.
