At the Liberty:"Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale"

DAYTON – “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” is the last chapter of one of television and film’s most enduring period dramas, with five seasons and three movies. The Crawley family, staff, and the grand house are entering the 1930s and must navigate how to embrace the future. The familiar cast includes Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Joely Richardson, Paul Giamatti, Jim Carter, and Joanne Froggatt.

One Rotten Tomatoes critic wrote, “Fellowes & Curtis have gifted audiences with a trilogy closer that’s worth coming back for as it brings satisfying closure to the series and hits about every emotional note a fan could hope for in seeing these characters off to their imagined futures.”

The critics gave “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” a rating of 89%. It is rated PG for suggestive material, smoking, and some thematic elements, and the runtime is 123 minutes.

The Manhattan Short Film Festival returns on September 26 to 30. Discover your inner film critic by casting your vote for Best Film and Best Actor in the 28th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival screening. The festival presents an international line-up of 10 short films exploring a wide range of topics. The festival presents both dramatic and comical perspectives on migration, reconciliation, housing, parenthood, and the cost of silence. Not to mention the trials and tribulations of growing up, with dangerous griffins overhead and you, an OMG murderous mother. And what is it about golf anyway? Runtime: 2 hours and 34 minutes.

On October 10 through 14, The Liberty will show “Rainier: A Beer Odyssey,” an independent feature documentary about the iconic Rainier Beer TV commercials, which ran from 1974 to 1987. Come to the theater and enjoy a can of Rainier while watching the documentary, directed and edited by Isaac Olsen and produced by the Peterson Brothers. More to come about this event.
