A Movie for Dayton Days
DAYTON — A retired rodeo legend risks all to save his grandson. Facing his painful past and his family’s fears, the 50-year-old returns to bull-riding by entering a high-stakes bull-riding competition as the oldest contestant. Along the way, he reconciles with his estranged daughter and finds that true courage is found in the fight for family.
The cast includes Neal McDonough, Christopher McDonald, and Sarah Jones.
“The Last Rodeo” is receiving good reviews. One critic wrote, “ ‘The Last Rodeo’ is a heartfelt drama that explores themes of family, redemption, and resilience, featuring strong performances and a compelling narrative.”
Another critic said the film captured the adrenaline-fueled nature of the sport in a thrilling, immersive approach.
“The Last Rodeo” is 118 minutes long and rated PG for thematic elements, language, and violence.
The Liberty Theater is presenting “A Christmas Carol” for its 2025 Fall Production. Mike Ferrians and Brenda Henderson will direct. An information night will be held on MAY 28 at 6 p.m. Auditions will be held on June 2 and 4 at 4 to 7:30 p.m., and June 5 at 4 to 6 p.m. There will be 14 shows between November 13 and December 6. The Missoula Children’s Theater is returning with the production of Snow White. Preregistration is required on Tuesday, July 22, and Friday, July 25, from 2-5 p.m. in the Liberty Theater Lobby or online at libertytheater.org. Participation is free for all kids entering 1st through 12th grade.
“Snow White” auditions are Monday, July 28, at 10 a.m., and rehearsals are held every day that week. The performances will be on Friday, August 1, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 2, at 3 p.m.
