CWWFD#2 issues burn ban for July 17 - SEPTEMBER 5

WAITSBURG-Columbia-Walla Walla Fire District 2 announced a burn ban in effect from July 17 to September 5, 2023, for the entire district, including the City of Waitsburg.

The ban is an annual precaution and has gone into effect a week earlier than last year. Interim Fire Chief Coulter Mohney said the department had hoped a ban would not be necessary this year. However, the district is experiencing drier than normal conditions and increased fire incidents. He said the ban period is subject to change due to weather and other conditions.
