Columbia County Conservation District seeks public input on restoration plan

December 17, 2020

DAYTON—The Columbia County Conservation District held a virtual public meeting on December 16 and will continue to accept public comment regarding the Tucannon Habitat Restoration and Conceptual Restoration Plan.

Restoration opportunities identified in the plan’s assessment represent the most effective restoration actions, based on current scientific data, to restore geomorphic and ecological processes to the extent possible within the Tucannon River and its floodplain. Other needs and interests in the basin represent constraints on opportunities. Documents including the Wooten Wildlife Floodplain Management Plan, by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife in 2014, express additional goals and interests.

Complete Tucannon River documents can be found at http://www.snakeriverboard.org. Public comments can be submitted to Columbia County Conservation District, 202 S. 2nd Street, Dayton, WA.
