PRESCOTT-On Tuesday October 22nd Prescott High School Boys soccer played against the La Grande junior varsity team. La Grande is a division 4A school in Oregon. The younger junior varsity was no match for the Prescott boys team. A short four minutes into the game #11 Jonathan Cardenas got the scoring started for Prescott with an assist from #7 Adrian Rubio to make it 1-0. #3 Jayson Castillo would score the next goal a few minutes later with an assist from #8 Jaime Escalante. It was good to see Jaime back on the field and healthy after last weeks alumni game where he got a little banged up toward the end of that game. An Omar Velazco goal #10 from with an assist from #15 Victor Garcia would close out a dominant 1st half for Prescott.

In the 2nd half Prescott continued to control the ball and the game. Both Omar Velazco and Jayson Castillo would score two goals each completing their hat tricks for the game. Goalie Miguel Ayala would shift to the offensive side and would score a goal of his own. Freshman Hector Garcia took over as goalkeeper and played well as the only thing that got by him was a penalty kick late in the 2nd half. With the 8-1 win Prescott improved to 12-3 on the season. They would also win their next game on the 25th of October at St. George's 3-2 to close out the regular season with four straight wins and a 13-3 record going into the first round of the playoffs. The first round of the loser out playoffs will be on Tuesday October 29th vs. Trout Lake at 1:30pm in Prescott.
