DAYTON – The Dayton girls' basketball team traveled to Oakesdale on Friday and pulled out a win, 46-38. On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs hosted Pomeroy and barely held off the Pirates, winning 43-41.

Against Oakesdale, Dayton built a big lead in the first half, outscoring their opponent 19-4 in the second quarter and taking a 30-16 lead into the half.

"We really got contributions from everyone in some way," Dayton coach Clayton Strong said. "Katie Patton and Kira Boggs gave us a short burst at the end of the first half that allowed us to protect a couple of girls from picking up a key foul."

For the game, Jenna Phillips had 18 points and Shayla Currin notched 16. Currin also dominated under the basket, pulling down 16 rebounds and blocking five shots. Phillips also had six assists.
