RITZVILLE - Several members of the WP track team traveled to Ritzville for the Undeberg Invitational Meet Saturday, where more than 30 teams competed.

The highlight for WP was a win by Owen Lanning in the Triple Jump, with a mark of 41 feet, 0.5 inches. "He did it on his last jump and that was exciting," said WP Coach Jeff Bartlow.

With strong competition, distance runner E.J. Meserve clocked personal records in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meter races. He finished 15th in the 1,600 and 11th in the 3,200.

Zion Branson qualified for the Lewiston Invitational meet this week with a shot put toss of 38 feet, nine inches, placing tenth. "That was a huge mark," said Bartlow.

Qualifiers traveliling to Lewiston this week for the meet of Champions on Thursday. Those athletes who didn't qualify will compete Wednesday in the Dayton JV meet.
