Dayton Wins 3 on the Week

COLTON - The Dayton Bulldogs pulled off their third win of the season in the second game of a doubleheader against the Colton Wildcats on Tuesday.

The boys lost their first game against the Wildcats 10-0, but came to life in the fifth inning of their second game against the non-league opponent on a triple from Lowden Smith that scored him and batters Spencer Conwell and Guy Spallinger.

The team kept loading the bases with singles and scored three more times to win their second game against Colton 6-3.

"We had a lot of timely hits from several kids," head coach Sal Benavides said about a Bulldogs team that includes several well-hitting eighth graders. "It was a team effort."

Smith performed well on the mound, shutting down a number of would-be runners.
