JIM GERMAN IN MAGAZINE

WAITSBURG - Waitsburg's Jim German was honored by Wine Enthusiast Magazine as Mixologist of the Month. The magazine highlighted his Main Street business, jimgermanbar, and touted the atmosphere in "One-of-a-Kind" Waitsburg.

DONATIONS SOUGHT FOR CAPSULE

DAYTON -- Dayton's Boldman House Museum is currently seeking donations of items to be included in a 50-year time capsule. Items should be things from today that will be of interest to members of the community in 50 years. Photographs, pamphlets, billing statements, school assignments, and information from the digital, medical, veterinary, agricultural, religious and entertainment items are a few of the many suggestions for the contents of this time capsule. Items must fit into a cylinder 8 inches wide and 30 inches long. Selections can be dropped off at the Dayton Historic Depot located at 222 E. Commercial Street open Wednesday through Saturday 11a.m. - 4 p.m. Deadline for submissions is March 23. For more information, please contact the Dayton Historic Depot at (509)382-2026.

COLUMBIA CO. VETERAN'S BOARD

DAYTON -- The board shall advise the Columbia County Board of Commissioners on the needs of local indigent veterans, the resources available to local indigent veterans, and programs that could benefit the needs of local indigent veterans and their families. Service on the board is voluntary. ARBOR DAY PROJECTS

WALLA WALLA -- The Walla Walla County Conservation District has supported the National Fourth Grade Foresters Program in the local schools and on Arbor Day, April 11, a total of 620 fourth graders from Dixie, Waitsburg, Prescott, Berney, Blue Ridge, Edison, Green Park, Sharpstein, Rogers Adventist and Assumption Catholic Elementary Schools will all receive a tree to take home and plant. Organizations like the Walla Walla County Conservation District cover the cost of each of the individually packaged evergreen trees, so there is no cost to students, teachers or schools.

BUSINESS SEMINAR

WALLA WALLA -- Small to medium Washington business enterprises looking to generate sales to new markets may benefit from a program offered April 2 and 3 by the Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and International Trade Alliance (ITA).

The seminar will deliver primary information and resources needed to understand how to export products or services. It will cover: how to find an international market and distribute a product, how to finance and make a profit, how to obtain certifications and learn about regulations, intellectual property issues, SWOT Analysis for export readiness and how to get help through the process. Participants will be introduced to the no cost export services of the SBDC.

Pre-registration is required for the seminar, which will be held at the Walla Walla Regional Airport Conference Center. Cost is $59 before March 19 or $75 after and includes lunch. Enrollment is limited. Priority will be given to existing WA small to medium business enterprises primed to sell to a new market. Please register online at wsbdc.org/training-calendar. ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION

WALLA WALLA -- The fourth annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration will take place again on St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17 at Blanchet Hall in St. Patrick's Catholic School, featuring traditional St. Patrick's Irish Pasties and John Lesko's Famous St. Patrick's Day Chili, Coleslaw, Cupcakes and Green Irish Punch round out the meal. Corn Dogs and Jello are available for kids who want to opt out. Traditional Green Irish Adult Beverages will be available as well. Dinner will be served from 4 until 7:30 p.m.

The stage will light up with live entertainment beginning at 5 and will continue until 9 p.m. Several local professional musicians, including Audrey Renaud, Denny Sedam, Connor Bouta and Torch Davis, among others, have donated their time to entertain you. The City Clicker Cloggers will dance up a storm, and the Assumption Middle School Choir will blow you away with their talent. The school is located adjacent to St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 425 West Alder St. The cost is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors (65 and older) and $5 for children (4-12) or $30 for the entire family.

FEAST WALLA WALLA

WALLA WALLA -- The fifth annual Feast Walla Walla will be held Saturday, April 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. Limited to 50 vendors, guests will sample food and wine featuring the region's many fine restaurants, food purveyors and wineries. A temporary on-site wine store will give guests the chance to purchase bottles of the wines they taste. Feast Walla Walla will feature the selected works of internationally renowned sculptor Nano Lopez, who casts locally at the Walla Walla Foundry. Live musical entertainment will add to the festivities. Tickets are $50, inclusive of a commemorative wine glass, plate and 10 event tokens, which can be exchanged for samples of wine or food. Additional tokens will be available for $2.
