ANIMAL CONTROL CODE WAITSBURG - Last week, the Waitsburg City Council discussed changes to the Animal Control Code. The code is in draft form and suggested updates include turning outstanding fees over to collections. Also, City Administrator Randy Hinchliffe said the Humane Society will now act as animal control within the city. DAYTON -- The Columbia County Commissioners approved grant money for facility repairs at the Columbia County Fair- grounds last Wednesday, Aug. 1. The repairs will help rain management on the grounds. The county applied for the grant money mid-June and was awarded from the Washington State Department of Agriculture.
