DAYTON - The Dayton Levee System, jointly operated and maintained by the city of Dayton and Columbia County, received an overall system rating of "minimally acceptable" this week following U.S. Army Corps of Engineers periodic inspections conducted in February. The levee system's rating means it remains eligible to apply for federal rehabilitation assistance if it is damaged in a flood or storm event. WALLA WALLA - Twenty-three-year old Waitsburg man Keith Eugene Adams was charged with five felonies Friday afternoon following his arrest early that morning at his Preston Avenue home. Adams allegedly held a 21-year-old woman and her two infant children at gun point. Adams was accused in Walla Walla County Superior Court of first-degree assault, harassment and three counts of unlawful imprisonment.
