  • Resource Center Sponsors Dental Van Visit

    WAITSBURG -- The Waitsburg Resource Center sponsored a visit from the Northwest Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Van last Friday. Volunteers Randy Pearson, DDS and assistant Diana Larsen were able to serve six patients during the 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. visit, though more were on the waiting list. Pam Conover, a Resource Center Board member, said the cost of the van is $600. The Waitsburg High School National Honor Society donated over $400 toward the visit.     DAYTON - The Juve­nile fish pond in Dayton is ready for fishing this spring. According to Steve Martin of the Snake River Salmon Recovery Board, the pond in the Dayton City Park was stocked earlier this month with rainbow trout. It also receives hatchery steelhead diverted from the Touchet River. The pond is open for fish­ing by kids 16 and under and disabled adults.     WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg 7-8th grade band traveled to Asotin on March 21 where they earned a Su­perior (I) rating in the Mass Band Festival. The band per­formed three songs: "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got that Swing," "Tunbridge Overture," and "Forge of Vulcan." All 38 band mem­bers were in attendance.
