Weather Spotter Training

WALLA WALLA - The National Weather Service is seeking volunteers to par­ticipate in upcoming weather spotter training on April 1 in Dayton and April 9 in Walla Walla. Weather spot­ters trained by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Weather Service assist meteorologists by pro­viding up-to-date informa­tion about storm activity.

The Skywarn Weather Spotter training is free. Day­ton's training will be held at Fire District 3 (206 W. Main) at 6:30 p.m. on April 1. The Walla Walla training will take place at 10 a.m. on April 9 in the 2nd Floor Training Room of the Public Health and Legislative Building (314 W. Main). The sessions are co-sponsored by Colum­bia County and Walla Walla County Emergency Manage­ment.
