Nate Wolbert, 22, is on the construction crew of Living Space and helps renovate two buildings on Waitsburg's Main Street. His parents bring back coffee beans from Ethiopia for their humanitarian work there.
Touchet Valley Repair owner Troy McCambridge with his "mobile garage" and his trusted companion Gunder. McCambridge, a longtime Waitsburg resident and former Navy aircraft mechanic, hopes to have his outfit up and running within a week.

To a chorus of "God Bless America," Lion J.W. "Buffalo Bill" Thompson accepted the honor of "Lion of the Year" for 2001 from presenter Ross Hamann.
Picnicking in the park for its 25th reunion were the W.H.S alums, all members of the Class of 1976: Jim Kenworthy, Steve Pierson, David Smith, Robin Hutsell Smith, Laurie McCaw Withers, Sandra Neal Foster, Teresa Keen Luders, Rick Davis, Greg Zuger, Tom John, Loyal Baker, David Webber, Kathy Shea Ungerecht.

Wait-Hi alums in charge of the Waitsburg swimming pool for the 1976 season are Jenny McKinney, and Lavonne Kenney. Karen Neal is assisting in the office at the Waitsburg pool this summer.

Waitsburg Saddlers entered the special events at the Pomeroy races last Saturday and Sunday, where Connie Cole won the musical rope race three times and Lassie Smith once.
Miss JoAnn Zuger as Fairest Farmerette of the Southeastern Washington Fair was a special guest of Clyde Beatty at his circus in Walla Walla last week.

Frank Zuger who has several hundred acres in fall barley on Reservoir Hill, expects to start up his combine harvester today-Friday. This will be the first grain cut in this locality this season.
R. St. Jacque this week installed a new electrically lighted street sign out over the walk-in front of his confectionary and café.
A. S. Dickinson and wife, and Hon. S. H. Cutting returned the first of the week from Longview where they attended the Republican state convention.

Postmaster A. S. Dickinson on Tuesday of this week moved the post office from the Brown building on the corner of Main and Preston Ave. to his new brick building on the west side of Main Street and a clock further down the street.
Mrs. John Hawks and son Willie and daughter Zelma were down from Huntsville last week. Willie is in poor health from the lingering sequel of the measles.
Fred Cox has leased the Waitsburg Dairy for one year to A. J. Walker who will assume charge the first of the month. Fred says he will take a much-needed rest of a few months after a steady "grind" of six years.
