Spokane – This summer, Innovia’s Longest Table program will help communities in Eastern Washington and North Idaho come together and strengthen connections with a meal.
Microgrants of up to $2,500 will support at least 60 Longest Table events between June 1 and September 30.
The Longest Table is a growing movement built on a simple, powerful idea: sharing a meal. Community members across the nation are gathering in public spaces to sit down with one another and build new relationships.
The nation marks 250 years, this initiative offers an opportunity to reflect on where we are today—both as a country and a region—and to imagine the hopes and possibilities we hold for the future.
In that spirit, Longest Table participants are also invited to participate in a region-wide flag mosaic project. The mosaic will be created using photo submissions in response to the prompt: “What is my America at 250?” Submit a photo and then view the completed mosaic at innovia.org/250-mosaic.
“Innovia is honored to launch this impactful initiative in communities across our region,” says Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation. “Bringing neighbors around the same table and sparking conversations is a powerful way to reduce isolation, promote belonging, and strengthen social trust.”
Grants can be used to cover organizing costs including tables, chairs, permits, promotional materials, and youth activities.
The Longest Table is presented in partnership with STCU. To learn more about the program or to apply for a grant, visit innovia.org/the-longest-table and follow the application instructions provided on the webpage.
