Logan Seal, Mattilynn Carter, and Iaias Reyes
Logan Seal
Logan Seal is the son of Maisee and Anthony. His sisters, Kailyn and Kenzie, are WHS alumni, and he has a younger sister, Hannah.
Seal has attended Waitsburg Schools since kindergarten. An honor student, he has four classes at the high school this year, participated in FFA his junior year, and has been a member of the basketball teams since he was in the eighth grade.
A team captain on the basketball team his junior and senior years, Seal was named MVP and was voted All league 2nd team his junior year and Most Inspirational his senior year.
Seal participated in 4-H from 4th through 6th grade, showing pigs and goats. And now he enjoys playing golf in his free time.
Volunteering in his community included helping at Karen's ride during Waitsburg Celebration Days, school concessions, and the Lions Club rib and salmon feeds. He also helps his brother-in-law with irrigation work.
His favorite memories are of homecoming week his freshman year and playing basketball for the Waitsburg Cardinals.
This summer, Seal will work harvest, and after, get an apprenticeship with Walla Walla Electric.
Mattilynn Carter
Mattilynn Carter has been a Waitsburg Cardinal since the seventh grade. She is the daughter of Lance and Wendy, and her older siblings are Kevin, Trevor, Keith, Kraig, and Jared.
Carter attends WHS full-time and is the Associated Student Body President. She was the ASB class representative her junior year. She has enjoyed being a member of FFA in her sophomore and junior years and was on the track team during her freshman year.
An outstanding leader, Carter has been co-captain and captain of the football and basketball cheer squads since her freshman year. She was named MVP as a football and basketball cheerleader.
Carter was chosen as September's Student of the Month her senior year, the October Student of the Month sponsored by Spectrum her senior year, and she was voted the 2026 Waitsburg Commercial Club Youth of the Year in April. She was the Weller Library intern in the summer following her junior year.
Volunteering in her community was appreciated by the Friends of the Pool at their Fall Festival pie contest and at the Rhythm & Fun Festival event, she assisted at the summer mini-camps for youth and the fun run during Waitsburg Celebration Days for Park and Rec and has helped at the Mason's oyster feed.
Carter's favorite memories were the bus rides to away football games her freshman year and hanging with friends.
After graduation, Carter will work and then travel to Boise State in August, join a sorority; RUSH, and attend classes to study communications to obtain a public relations/marketing job in the future.
Isais Reyes
Isaias Reyes' parents are Amber and Marco, and his siblings are Shaylah King and Deshaun Trudeau.
Reyes began school at Waitsburg in seventh grade and attends classes at WHS in the morning and takes media career classes at SEATech in the afternoons. He has been class president since his sophomore year, was in the band his freshman year, and loves to play football and baseball.
Playing football since the third grade, Reyes was the team captain his senior year and named to the All-SE1B (Southeast 1B) Wheat league as a 1st team selection as wide receiver. As a junior, he made the All-SE1B Wheat selections as kicker and punter.
A standout athlete on the baseball field, Reyes has played multiple positions since starting to play the game as a four-year-old. He has been a pitcher, catcher, and utility player for the Waitsburg team. He set a record as the first Cardinal to hit a home run each year, his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. He has been a three-time Silver Slugger (best hitter) and received 1st team honors his sophomore year. Reyes was named All-Opponent and WIAA Athlete of the Week his junior year. In the summers following his freshman and sophomore years, Reyes enjoyed playing on a traveling baseball team.
Reyes favorite memory was the last night at football camp in Elgin, Oregon, last summer.
This summer, Reyes will relax, find a job, save money, and plan to attend Walla Walla Community College's turf management program with hopes to play baseball for the Warriors.
