[Photo Caption] Farewell to a good and faithful servant. The elevator was built, probably in the 1870's, to hold grain until it could be milled at the close-by Waits Mill. This photo is submitted as a tribute and as a final record of the structure before it meets the wrecking ball. The elevator played a large part of Waitsburg's town history and is worth remembering.
[Photo Caption] Ted Bachman's service at the elevator is memorialized by his name in chalk on a wall, dated Aug. 20, 1929.
