Touchet Valley Community Showcase expands on a great idea

DAYTON - The Touchet Valley Community Showcase brought local business owners, health providers, artists, musicians, and creators together on April 18, 2026, at the Columbia Fairgrounds. The family-friendly event offered community members experiential and educational interactions with nearly 50 vendors.

Carissa Linder from The Den (Dynamic Education Network) is an advocate of community art.

Some of the valley's newest businesses, including Dayton Quilt and Laundromat, and Modern Pioneer RV Services in Starbuck participated.

Amy and Ken Cox, owners of Dayton Quilt Company and Laundromat opened thier business on Dayton's Main Street.

Guests got to work out with Lucy Nichols, owner of Trans4m Fitness, and play musical instruments in the Walla Walla Symphony petting zoo.

Sasha Squires from Thrive Community Support Services was on hand to demonstrate bow making.

There were demonstrations by craftpeople, filmmakers, and salvage artists. Visitors learned about local health advocacy programs and health providers, including Acupuncturist Denise Lane.

Community organizations working to improve the county included the Blue Mountain Butterfly Station, Friends of the Dayton Pool, Friends of the Library, and the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs.

Shakira Oneika Collins, owner of House of Grace Apothacary, was the catylast that made the showcase a reality.

Harvest and Harmony presented the showcase with the Port of Columbia and Shakira Oneika Collins.
