On Monday, April 13, the Cardinals baseball team was scheduled to travel to Colton for a doubleheader. The game was moved to Waitsburg, with Colton playing as the home team, after a storm on Sunday made the Colton field unplayable.
A hard day at the plate as eleven batters from both teams were hit by pitches during the doubleheader.
Trace Nesje started on the mound for the Cardinals, getting nine strikeouts and walking four in the 14-4 loss.
The Cardinals had a 4-2 lead until the third inning when the Wildcats tied the game. Numerous errors led to Colton scoring eight runs in the fifth inning, ending the game under the ten-run rule.
In the second game, Bryer Paul pitched five strikeouts and walked eight before being relieved by Isa Ryes, who struck out seven and walked two. Colton won the second game, 11-1, after Waitsburg's defensive errors led to the game ending in the sixth under the ten-run rule.
