Waitsburg High School FFA program has been busy since January with competitions and has more activities and competitions planned through March.
On January 28 at Oakesdale, FFA members competed in the AG Marketing Plan category, with one team earning third-place honors. The team of Olivia Kiefel, Kayla Kuykendall, and Carter Barron will compete at the 96th Washington FFA Convention at Washington State University in May.
The AG Mechanics team competed at Walla Walla High School on February 12, finishing in the middle of the pack. Upcoming competitions include WSU on February 18, Walla Walla Community College on February 25, Garfield-Palouse on March 4, and the State competition in Yakima on March 26.
National FFA Week is February 21-28. During the school week, Waitsburg FFA members will have dress-up themes of blue, camo, western, Abel, and American. A Chapter meeting will be held on Monday, January 23, and the 2026 AG Olympics will determine the King and Queen on Friday, February 27. The week winds up with the Harvest Ball on Saturday, February 28.
Twenty students will attend sub-district competitions in Pomeroy on March 10. Individuals and teams will compete in Advance Parliamentary, Beginning Parliamentary, Creed, and Conduct of Chapter Meeting and Rituals.
