WALLA WALLA - Fans of the movie "Wicked" are invited to a special sing-along event at Gesa Power House Theatre on Sunday, November 16, at 2 p.m. The lyrics displayed on the screen will allow the audience to sing along to their favorite songs from the musical.
Tickets are only $10, and for just $5, you can add a little team spirit with a wand to cheer for your favorite witch.
"Wicked" was directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox. The movie adapts the first act of the 2003 stage musical that was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel. Maguire's book was a reimagining of L. Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" and the 1939 film.
The 2024 film stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande as Glinda Upland, with Jonathan Bailey, Bowen Yang, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum in supporting roles. Set in the Land of Oz before Dorothy and Toto arrive from Kansas, the plot explores the early relationship between Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and her dormitory roommate Glinda, who becomes Glinda the Good.
