Veterans Coalition of Southeast Washington's Blue Mountain Stand Down 2010 will be Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at the National Guard Armory, 113 South Colville Street, Walla Walla. The 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. event is for all military veterans, with a special invitation to homeless veterans. Those attending and needing help should bring their military papers, if available.

In five days on Tuesday, November 7, voters in Waitsburg, Walla Walla County and across the United States will cast ballots in the 2000 Election, determining a new president, possibly a new Washington governor, national and state senatorial races, local political contests and a number of state initiatives. Voting in Waitsburg will be at the Waitsburg Elementary School, 184 Academy Street, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Miss Elena Brown became the bride of Robert Perry at a three o'clock ceremony Saturday, November 4, at the Central Christian Church.
Rosemary McConnell broke her arm last week at the 4-H skating party in Walla Walla.
The Drum and Bugle Corps sponsored by the American Legion Post 35 appeared in Richland Nov. 3. Members of the group are Jack Corporan, Bill Smith, Jim Woods, John Dawson, Dorothy Smith, Frank Smith, Clem Crowsten, Lewis Messex, Betty Messex, Delbert Mock, Joe Abbey, Alvin Cline, Ruth Hanchett, Jim and Geraine Hansen, Bernard and Mary Buroker, and Margaret Keve. Jane Welker of Prescott is majorette.

The handsome residence property on Main Street owned by the late Mrs. D. B. Stemmel, has been purchased by G. G. Bickelhaupt of this city who is redecorating the interior of the dwelling preparatory to moving in with his family.
The apple harvest is at an end in Columbia County and packing will probably be concluded this week. About 300 cars of apples will be shipped from this locality this fall.

A sneak thief entered the cellar of J. W. McCoy last Saturday night and stole a case of eggs and a number of jars of fruit.
A very successful "at home" was given by Mesdames Stratton and Fender at the home of Mrs. Fender last Thursday afternoon. A large number of guests were present and the afternoon was very pleasantly spent.
