To the Editor,
Having attended most City Council Meetings since 2012, I have been impressed and appreciate the governance and commitment by Councilman House and Mayor Marty Dunn.
Kevin House is the Service Branch Manager for McGregor Co. in Waitsburg. He and his wife, Christy, have raised two children who have attended Waitsburg Schools. Kevin supports school and FFA events, along with many community events, through membership in the Lions Club and the Waitsburg Commercial Club. Because of his participation in Waitsburg organizations and events, Kevin understands the constructive interaction and intricacies of Waitsburg venues and assets such as the Fairgrounds, Parks, and the new pool construction. He supports continued infrastructure upgrades and Waitsburg business retention and recruitment.
Kevin is not gregarious, but when he raises his hand to speak at City Council Meetings, he has the respect and attention of the room, as his words are insightful and thoughtful. We need his continued leadership to keep Waitsburg on track for positive direction and continued success. Please vote for Kevin House for Waitsburg City Council Position 1.
Marty Dunn was Waitsburg Mayor during the flood of 2020, and I cannot think of a better example of his steadfast leadership as he brought our community together during this crisis while communicating direction and disbursing resources. Marty’s leadership of the City Council displays his diplomatic skills in managing personalities and a variety of local resident opinions while resolving issues for the best outcome for the community of Waitsburg. He gives freely and generously of his time and knowledge to community events and city projects, and is always available for community input. Please support and vote for Marty Dunn for Waitsburg Mayor to continue his positive leadership to the benefit of our town.
I would also call for your support of the upcoming Waitsburg Parks and Recreation levy. Our city has many assets that attract businesses and residents. A community pool is and has been an important part of Waitsburg; the Parks and Rec committee needs the funds to carry out its primary goal of constructing a new pool. Please vote Yes!
