WAITSBURG - This year, Waitsburg has a new youth football program for students in fourth through sixth grades. The program developed by USA Football is part of its youth football development model, Football for All. The new model is designed to make the game safer by reducing contact and teaching skills based on the athlete's age, skill, and game type.
The boys, coached by Waitsburg High School graduate Cyson Morris and assisted by Dallas Harker, will play their first game of the season in Irrigon, Oregon. The jamboree will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 20.
Coach Morris said he is looking forward to a great season and the chance to start building a foundation for the Waitsburg High School football program.
