On May 16, eleven well-read Books for Bikes winners posed with their new bikes.
WAITSBURGS - Some of the happiest participants in this year's Waitsburg Celebration Day's Kiddie Parade rode new bikes. The Waitsburg Masonic Lodge #16, Waitsburg Elementary School, and the Weller Public Library joined together for the Books for Bikes program.
The Masons donated 11 bikes to the program where eligible elementary students tracked their reading time. The kids earned a chance to win a bike for each hour of reading they completed. The raffle was held on Friday, May 16, so winners could ride their new bikes in the kiddie parade on Saturday.
Congratulations to all the winners, and well done to all the participants for taking the challenge.
