Hinchliffe, Long, Daves, and Stegall
Preston Hinchliffe
Preston Hinchliffe has attended Waitsburg Schools since preschool. He attends classes in the morning at Waitsburg High School and works for Himark Custom Fab in the afternoon. After graduation, Hinchliffe plans to continue working at Custom Fab overhauling combines.
During his high school years, Hinchliffe played baseball his freshman and sophomore years. He has been a member of FFA for four years and was on the FFA trap team.
Hinchliffe's best memory of high school is his FFA classes.
Leah Long
Leah Long cares for her neighbor's horses, does chores, and works summer harvest. She likes hanging out with friends when she is not volunteering with yard cleanup for the elderly or helping at band events.
Long has attended Waitsburg Schools since the fourth grade. She has been a member of FFA since her sophomore year and was in the band for two years.
After graduation, Long plans to get a job and enroll in the cosmetology program at Walla Walla Community College in the fall. She also plans to get her license as a tattoo artist.
Her favorite memory is the color war at homecoming in her senior year.
William Daves
William Daves has attended Waitsburg Schools since kindergarten. He attends classes all day at Waitsburg High School and participates in sports and FFA.
Daves played football, basketball, and golf. He participated in numerous FFA competitions and showed livestock for the local fairs. Daves is a past member of the FFA Trap team, and he is currently the ASB Vice-President.
Daves has volunteered at the Dayton Kiwanis concession stand at the Columbia County Fair and helped at Walla Walla Gun Club events.
After graduation, Daves plans to find a summer job and enroll at Walla Walla Community College to take diesel mechanic classes.
Almost going to State in football his senior season is Daves's favorite memory.
Cedar Stegall
Cedar Stegall is the president of the Waitsburg High School Associated Student Body and vice president of the Waitsburg FFA. She competed in numerous FFA competitions, is the FFA District Sentinel, school board student representative, and was the cheerleading squad captain. She is a member of the National Honor Society.
Stegall started classes at Waitsburg in the fourth grade. She has been a member of 4-H for nine years.
Assisting at the Waitsburg Park & Recreation's cheer camp, the Father and Daughter Dance, the Laurette McCaw Pie contest at the Waitsburg Historical Society Fall Festival, and Waitsburg Friends of the Pool fundraisers has kept Stegall involved in her community. Stegall gives out a "Cedar Choice" award each year at the Fall Festival pie contest.
After graduation, Stegall will work for the Walla Walla Sweets baseball team this summer and attend Washington State University in the fall to earn her Ag teacher certification.
Road trips to FFA competitions and winning at those events are Stegall favorite memories of high school.
