Support for Clayton

Letter to the editor

I would like to express my unequivocal support for Bertha Clayton in her candidacy for county commissioner. Running as a no-party preference candidate, Bertha is distinguished by her ability to engage with constituents from both sides of the political spectrum. I have personally witnessed her dedication to listening thoughtfully and communicating with the utmost integrity and honesty.

Her strong work ethic is evident in her interactions, and it is clear that she is committed to serving our community. Coming from an agricultural family—with her mother as a farm worker and her father as a farmer—Bertha has deep roots in the community, particularly in the Hispanic population. Her fluency in Spanish enhances her ability to connect with a diverse range of constituents.

Furthermore, she holds a degree in law and has experience in immigration law, providing a much-needed balance to the current board of commissioners. Bertha Clayton is not only qualified but also genuinely cares about the needs of our county. I urge everyone to consider supporting her candidacy.
