The Waitsburg High School Band performed at a Band Festival in Clarkston on March 25 and scored a superior rating. "This is especially difficult at the high school level, and the band played very well," said Band Director Brad Green. The band played "Fanfare for a Celebration" and "Prairie Dance." Green said both are complicated songs with many solos. Seniors Meara Baker (flute) and Kimmie Hamann (trumpet) played important parts. "I was very proud and happy," said Green.
Weller Library will be offering a Getting Started class on April 3 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Weller Library. The class will allow patrons to see what is available through the Microsoft IT Academy and will provide assistance in setting up an IT account. Students may then work through lessons from home or they may access their ITA account through a library computer if they don't have access at home.

Percy Hulce of Big Bear Lake, Cal., and Mrs. Millie Rabern of Ontario, Or. have been visiting their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Hulce, and with other relatives in town. The two brothers took their sister to her Oregon home and went on to Vivian, S.D. on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Fenton and son Norman of Sumner, Wa. were guests this past weekend at the Jim Davison and Marvin Huffman homes. Mr. Fenton formerly taught music in the local schools and Mrs. Fenton taught in Dayton.
Weekend visitors at the Joe Abbeys were Dr. and Mrs. Warren Sherk former minister of the Waitsburg Methodist Church. He is now chairman of Executives, International, headquartered in Tempe, Az.

Kindergarten children and their teacher, Mrs. Moore, enjoyed a marshmallow toast at the outdoor fireplace of Miss Fanny Weller. Children attending were Norma Anderson, Elinora Graham, Arlene Abbey, Margaret Daniels, Donald Glover, Jimmie Hays, Danny Clodius, Ronnie Kessler, Gary Harkins and Gary Peters.
Work on the tennis court will resume within a week or so and it is hoped to have the project completed in the near future.
Roy Allen, Sr. has purchased a home and orchard four miles from Elgin, Ore. in the Wallowa country. Mr. and Mrs. Allen plan to spend their summers there but will keep their apartment in Waitsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stevens of Spokane came down and surprised their parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Wilson. They came to attend the family reunion and were accompanied by Mrs. Chauncey Smith and daughter, Geraldine, old friends of the Wilsons.
Mrs. A. S. Dickinson arrived home Wednesday from Olympia. She was accompanied by Miss Freda Iffeond who expects to visit at the Dickinson home for several days.
J. W. L. McCrosky and wife, old neighbors in the Palouse country, spent Sunday in this city the guests of the Grubbes.

Samuel Smith surprised his family with a new buggy Wednesday of last week. His mission when leaving for town was to buy a cart.
Cecil Keiser was out in Spring Valley from Waitsburg Saturday, Making a scorching run on his bike.
Alvie Sanders purchased a riding horse of Emma Henderson Saturday, consideration, five dollars.
Able White put a new roof on his Main Street residence this week.
